July 28, Saturday @12:30: SCAD Tour of Pierre Cardin Fashion: Pierre Cardin: Pursuit of the Future" is a major retrospective featuring iconic looks for both women and men from the 1950S to present, borrowed mainly from the Pierre Cardin Museum in Paris, and includes several dresses from the SCAD Permanent Collection. Optional late lunch after the tour.
July 23, Monday Museum Road Trip - The French Heritage Society organized a “road trip” to the Georgia Museum of Art in Athens. Sarah Kate Gillespie, curator of American art guided us through both “Women Artists from the Johnson collection and the fabulous collection of American impressionist paintings of Mrs. Day Sanders. Additionally, Bill Eiland personally took us through the R&R treasures, a sneak peek before it opens.
There will be a cost of box lunches which we will eat in the Board meeting room. There is no admission charge at the Georgia Museum of Art but a donation would be gratefully accepted.

Saturday - Wednesday, May 5 – 9, 2018 - Visitors were here from our society in Toulouse. 7 visitors were hosted in our members’ homes. They spent a week in Florida and 4 days in Atlanta. They all spoke English.
Saturday, April 21, 2018 - We chartered a bus for an all-inclusive trip to North Georgia. We visited 3 Wineries for tastings and lunch. Wineries included: Stonewall Creek, Tiger Mountain and 12 Spies Vineyards, all in Rabun County.

Wednesday, March 21, 2018 - The Consulate General of France in Atlanta, in partnership with Atlanta's sister city of Toulouse and Le Bilboquet restaurant, organized a gourmet dining experience for March 21 at 6:00 PM. Chef Stéphane Tournié joined Le Bilboquet Chef Cyrille Holota from his Michelin-starred restaurant in Toulouse. Together they prepared a menu showcasing the best of contemporary French cuisine. This is part of the 4th Edition of Goût de/Good France, a worldwide celebration of French gastronomy.

Sunday, March 4, 2018, 1:00 p.m. - GA Tech Grad Students were guests at an ATSCC member’s home as they were welcomed to Atlanta and the Atlanta Tech campus. The young men and women are
students at the GA Tech Campus in Metz, France. Brunch was served and consisted of several delicious dishes to help acquaint the students with Southern cuisine.

Wednesday, February 7, 2018 - We attended the Atlanta Sister Cities Commissioner Winter Party at City Hall. It is a lovely event with all 17 Sister Cities there, officials, consulate dignitaries, etc. This year we opened this up to our membership to attend for $20 per person to assist ASCC in raising funds to maintain its’ position as international city of significance. The invitation wass for a free screening of director Alain Gomis' latest award-winning film, Félicité, presented as part of France-Atlanta 2017 in conjunction with the High Museum of Art's exhibition "Making Africa: A Continent of Contemporary Design."

Monday, October 23, 2017 - Our friend Suzy Wasserman of the French Heritage Society shared this free of charge event with us! Robert Mallet, noted plantsman, author and Director of the Shamrock Collection, the largest collection of hydrangeas in the world, was our speaker. His topic was The Ultimate Exhibitionist: Hydrangeas from Private to Public. 7 PM at the Atlanta History Center’s Woodruff Auditorium in McElreath Hall.
Wednesday, October 11, 2017 - The ATSCC was specifically invited to a special, open rehearsal and coffee discussion of France-Atlanta 2017 artists Germana Civera and Didier Aschor in collaboration with the artists of CORE Performance Company from 3:00-4:00pm in downtown Decatur. The open rehearsal and coffee with the artists took place at CORE Performance Company’s Studios in Decatur Square.
Friday, September 29, 2107 -Brenda and Walton Rawls joined us at the Atlanta History Center at 10:30 on Friday, September 29, for a tour of Walton’s exhibit, “Uncle Sam Wants You! World War I and the American Poster.” This exhibit is based upon Walton’s extensive collection. The exhibition is in the main AHC building, 130 West Paces Ferry Road, NW. The exhibit closes Dec. 3, 2017.

Saturday, September 9, 2017 - Baaron Haussmann and his Renovation of Paris: A Cocktail Culturel and Lecture by Lewis Nix, was held at 6:30 PM at the private residence of Leslie and Skip Petter, 835 Davis Dr., Atlanta, 30327. Baaron Haussmann was chosen by Emperor Napoleon III to carry out a tranformation of Paris from its ancient character to the Paris we know today. The event was $30 per person.

Saturday, May 13, 2017 - Ken Haskins spoke on the sequel to his book "The Lost Child" at the home of Mot Dinos, 3001 Ranch Rd., Atlanta (Vinings) 30339. The book is set in Paris during the German Occupation of France in World War II.
Sunday, March 26, 2017 - Northwest Atlanta resident Jeanne Castell-Kozik, a native of France, an expert in French cooking, and has French cooking classes and dinners in her home. She demonstrated how to cook what you will eat. We participated in the preparation of the meal. She made Coquilles St. Jacques for the Atlanta Toulouse Sister Cities Committee.
